Basketball Recap: Scotlandville Hornets vs. Central Wildcats
The Scotlandville Hornets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 63-56 victory over Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Scotlandville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamal Drewery, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Drewery hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Aaron Marshall, who scored 19 points.
Scotlandville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Central, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotlandville will take on the Broncos at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
