Football Recap: Glenwood Titans vs. East St. Louis Flyers
Glenwood and East St. Louis squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Glenwood had to settle for second. They were dealt a 53-14 defeat at the hands of the Flyers. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Flyers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Colten Knoedler threw for 128 yards on 13 of 33 attempts. Blake Lehnen was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards. On the ground, Grady Mueller rushed for 77 yards and two TDs.
Myson Johnson-Cook produced another solid effort rushing for 251 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries for East St. Louis. That's the most rushing touchdowns Johnson-Cook has posted since back in September. Reece Shanklin was another key player, rushing for 58 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries.
Having lost for the first time this season, Glenwood fell to 10-1. As for East St. Louis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
As of now, neither Glenwood nor the Flyers have any future games scheduled.
