            Softball Recap: Eastern Christian Eagles vs. Hawthorne Bears        
        
		
        
        
            If Eastern Christian was feeling good  fresh off their  11-0 takedown of Manchester Regional last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against  the Hawthorne Bears on Wednesday, falling  12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the  13-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in May of 2024.
 Eastern Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Alina Ellis, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.  Kayleigh Marshall also deserves some recognition as  she  got her first  hit of the season.
Eastern Christian dropped their record down to 4-4 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Hawthorne, the  victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
 Coming up, Eastern Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Secaucus  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Hawthorne, they are taking a road trip to  face off against Saddle Brook  at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday.
