Volleyball Recap: Helix Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Helix was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mt. Carmel Sundevils. The Highlanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sundevils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Helix sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 22-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-10.

Helix's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Mt. Carmel, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Helix will take on Scripps Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Carmel, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against University City at 6:00 p.m.
