Football Game Preview: Chatham Cavaliers vs. Altavista Colonels + How To Watch

The Chatham Cavaliers are taking a road trip to take on the Altavista Colonels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chatham has given up an average of 35.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chatham is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Appomattox County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cavaliers took a blow against the Raiders, falling 68-7. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-7.

Meanwhile, Altavista had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 65-14 victory over the Wildcats. The matchup marked the Colonels' most dominant win of the season so far.

Altavista's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Chatham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Chatham took a serious blow against Altavista in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 73-18. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cavaliers were down 66-12.
