The Glendale Prep Academy Griffins will square off against the Tempe Prep Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Glendale Prep Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Mountainside a 28-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Griffins, who have now won three games in a row.
Raegan Rockey made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ally Moore, who fired off three home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Natalie Whipple was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Tempe Prep never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Madison Highland Prep last Thursday. They blew past the Heat 15-7. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Leilani Sawyer was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Rose, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Glendale Prep Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tempe Prep, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.
Tempe Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Glendale Prep Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game.
