Soccer Recap: Cairo Comes Up Short

If Cairo was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Sumter County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cairo Syrupmakers came up short against the Thomasville Bulldogs on Friday, falling 5-0. The Syrupmakers have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Cairo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Thomasville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Cairo will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Peach County at 5:30 p.m. on February 25th. As for Thomasville, they will square off against Worth County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
