Soccer Preview: Viewmont and Alta Square Off

The Viewmont Vikings will challenge The Alta Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Viewmont and five for Alta.

Viewmont lost 5-1 to Bountiful on Thursday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Viewmont were already down 3-0.

Meanwhile, Alta came up short against Olympus on Tuesday, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, Alta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Olympus are ranked eighth).

Viewmont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Alta, they have now lost seven of their last eight games on the road. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-6 record this season.
