Baseball Game Preview: Crosby Cougars vs. Dayton Broncos

For the second straight game, Crosby will face off against Dayton. The Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Crosby fell victim to Dayton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. That makes it the first time this season the Cougars have let down their home crowd.

For Dayton's part, not much got past Hunter Wallace, who gave up just four hits to keep Crosby off the board. Wallace also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Broncos are 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Dayton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zak Wood, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Anthony Zuniga was another, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Dayton has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Crosby, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13-1.
