Volleyball Recap: Acadiana Home School Athletics Starts Season with Win on the Road

Acadiana Home School Athletics had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool 2-1. This was payback for the Commandos, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Acadiana Home School Athletics got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 20-25, 15-5.

Acadiana Home School Athletics' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Mader led the charge by getting nine aces and five kills. Mader has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last 11 times she's played. Julia West was another key player, getting nine kills and five aces.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Acadiana Home School Athletics didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Lake Area HomeSchool Sports on the 8th.
