Softball Recap: Gooding Takes a Loss

Gooding couldn't beat Cole Valley Christian on Saturday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fourth inning. The Senators came up short against the Chargers, falling 18-7. The Senators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mady Morris made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Shyla Squires also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Gooding's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Cole Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Gooding is taking a road trip to face off against Filer at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cole Valley Christian, they will be playing at home against Weiser at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Chargers have won 13 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Wolverines won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
