Softball Recap: Barr-Reeve Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Barr-Reeve extended their winning streak to five on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 13-6 in the process. They never let North Posey get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. For Barr-Reeve, this counts as revenge for the 8-1 victory North Posey walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2015.

As for North Posey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs.

For North Posey's part, Alyssa Heath spent all 9.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, North Posey saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Lavanchy, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barr-Reeve will head out to square off against Southridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Posey, they will venture away from home to face off against South Spencer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
