Basketball Recap: South Barber Takes a Loss

South Barber lost against Cunningham last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The South Barber Chieftains had to suffer through a 75-44 loss at the hands of the Cunningham Wildcats. The Chieftains were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-17.

Cunningham got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Sterneker out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Sterneker a new career-high in points. Will Wegerer was another key player, going 7 of 13 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

South Barber has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Cunningham, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

South Barber has already played their next matchup, a 67-37 loss against Norwich on the 25th. As for Cunningham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-58 win against Medicine Lodge on the 25th.
