Baseball Preview: Volunteer Falcons vs. Unaka Rangers
Volunteer is a perfect 4-0 against Unaka since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Falcons will host the Rangers at 6:00 p.m. Volunteer will be strutting in after a victory while Unaka will be coming in after a defeat.
Volunteer is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Happy Valley 15-3 on Friday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Luke Armstrong was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
