The Devine Warhorses will take on the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
If Devine beats Uvalde with seven runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Warhorses had just enough and edged out Floresville 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warhorses have posted since February 27th.

Tucker Traylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Yaya Rodriguez was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Maddie Brown was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Uvalde ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Pleasanton 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Uvalde saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was SOPHIA LONGORIA, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Devine has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Uvalde, they pushed their record up to 12-10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Uvalde's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Devine has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Uvalde, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Devine keep running through batters, or will the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) buck the trend?
Devine took their win against Uvalde in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Warhorses have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
