Softball Recap: Borah Drops Season-High Score on Boise

Borah made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Boise, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions put the hurt on the Brave with a sharp 14-4 win on Thursday. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Borah let Reese Naylor and Kayla Campbell run wild. Naylor went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Campbell went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave Naylor a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alice Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Borah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory (which was Borah's third in a row) raised their record to 3-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Boise, they moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Borah will head out on the road to challenge Timberline at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
