Soccer Recap: Illinois Valley Central Takes a Loss

Illinois Valley Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Olympia Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Olympia this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in April.

Illinois Valley Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16-1. As for Olympia, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9-2 record this season.

Illinois Valley Central has already played their next game, a 0-0 draw against Peoria Christian on the 7th. As for Olympia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against St. Thomas More on the 8th.
