Softball Game Preview: Benton Central Bison vs. Rensselaer Central Bombers

The Benton Central Bison will challenge the Rensselaer Central Bombers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Benton Central's offense. They came up short against West Lafayette on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The Bison haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Kankakee Valley hit Rensselaer Central with a five-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bombers lost 12-4 to the Kougars.

Kylie Spencer was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Stacia Crabtree, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two RBI.

Benton Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Rensselaer Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.
