Football Preview: Allegany Campers vs. Mountain Ridge Miners        
        
		
             Allegany is 1-9 against Mountain Ridge since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Allegany Campers will welcome the Mountain Ridge Miners  at 7:00  p.m.
 Allegany came up short against  Oakdale on Friday, falling  29-6.
 Despite the  defeat, Allegany got top-tier performance from   Aidyn Mckenzie, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
 He was just one part of a punishing run game: Allegany was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 273  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 167  rushing yards in seven consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
 Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge didn't have too much trouble with Catoctin at home   on Friday as they won  29-12. Given the Miners' advantage  in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings  (they are ranked 35th, while the Cougars are ranked 113th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Mountain Ridge got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Kyree Griffin out in front who rushed for 170 yards while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eli Sibley, who picked up 74 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 Mountain Ridge's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done.  Owen Bannon picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
 Allegany's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mountain Ridge,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 2-0.
 Allegany suffered a grim  35-14 defeat to Mountain Ridge  when the teams last played  back in November of 2023. Thankfully for Allegany,  Will Patterson (who rushed for 62 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
