Soccer Game Preview: Evergreen vs. Maumee

The Evergreen Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Maumee Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maumee took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Evergreen, who comes in off a win.

While Evergreen's win against Whitmer wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Panthers 2-1. The victory continues a trend for Evergreen in their matchups with Whitmer: they've now won five in a row.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Monday. Maumee fell just short of Delta by a score of 1-0. Maumee's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Evergreen's win bumped their record up to 5-8-1. As for Maumee, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-3.

Evergreen was able to grind out a solid victory over Maumee when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
