Basketball Recap: Moorpark Takes a Loss

Moorpark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Paraclete Spirits.

When it comes to explaining why Moorpark lost, don't look at Jay Massa. Despite the final result, he went 14 for 20 en route to 32 points. Those 32 points gave Massa a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Brown, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points.

Moorpark's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Paraclete, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-14 record this season.

Moorpark will square off against Simi Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Simi Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season. As for Paraclete, they will face off against Salesian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
