Baseball Recap: Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines vs. Dundalk Owls
There's no place like home for Western Tech & Environmental Science, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Dundalk Owls on Friday as Western Tech & Environmental Science made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Wolverines' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Harlan Sammons was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sammons was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Wes Henry was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Connor Brown, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Western Tech & Environmental Science always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dundalk only posted an OBP of .250.
