Soccer Recap: Americas Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Americas, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the El Dorado Aztecs a 7-0 shutout on Friday. Given the Trail Blazers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Aztecs are ranked 528th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Americas is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those seven matchups. El Dorado has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Americas and El Dorado will both be playing Bel Air the next time they take the pitch. El Dorado will host Bel Air at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Americas will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 28th.
