The Mountain House Mustangs will take on the Vintage Crushers at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Mountain House made easy work of Sierra and carried off a 14-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Haylie Townsley spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Isabel Obaob was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Surianti Bakri was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Mountain House kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Vintage got the win against Sonoma Valley on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-2.
Noelle Rofkahr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Rofkahr was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Gomez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Desiree Griffith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Mountain House's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Vintage, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Mountain House has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Vintage struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
