Football Game Preview: Don Bosco Prep Ironmen vs. DePaul Catholic Spartans + How To Watch

The Don Bosco Prep Ironmen will venture away from home to take on the DePaul Catholic Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Don Bosco Prep 10, DePaul Catholic 10.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Don Bosco Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Jersey's top teams: Bergen Catholic, who was ranked second at the time (Don Bosco Prep was ranked first). The Ironmen managed a 14-9 victory over the Crusaders on Friday. The Ironmen's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Meanwhile, DePaul Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Paramus Catholic on Friday, taking the game 26-14. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Paladins recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

DePaul Catholic's win came from a few key players Don Bosco Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Derek Zammit, who rushed for 121 yards on only five carries, and also threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 70 yards. Marquan Carter was in the mix as well, providing DePaul Catholic with two TDs.

DePaul Catholic's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Paramus Catholic's QB won't forget Logan Nagle anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Paladins' side was Jaxon Bastante, who picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Don Bosco Prep's record now sits at 4-0. As for DePaul Catholic, their record is now 4-1.

Don Bosco Prep and DePaul Catholic were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but Don Bosco Prep came up empty-handed after a 21-20 loss. Can the Ironmen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
