Basketball Recap: Christian Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

Christian Heritage Academy played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Dayspring Christian Academy Lions, falling 62-30. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Christian Heritage Academy still got an impressive performance from Luke Mason, who posted 16 points and six boards. The match was Mason's fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Christian Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Heritage Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Roanoke Valley Christian at 5:45 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Roanoke Valley Christian's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Christian Heritage Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. Dayspring Christian Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Surry HomeSchool on January 4, 2025.
