Softball Recap: Curry Gets the Win

Curry posted their closest win since March 14th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the James Clemens Jets 4-2.

CC Moore tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ralee Dunagan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Kerra Aaron was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Curry hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 18-4 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Curry is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-14-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for James Clemens, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-25-2.

Curry wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-1 win against West Morgan on the 27th. As for James Clemens, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-0 loss against Athens on the 27th.
