Softball Recap: Villa Joseph Marie Takes a Loss

If Villa Joseph Marie was riding high fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Plumstead Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jems lost 7-1 to the Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic on Tuesday. The Jems have struggled against the Magic recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Villa Joseph Marie saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Cassidy, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Cassidy snagged this season.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-6. As for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Villa Joseph Marie will take on Archbishop Wood at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, they will square off against Abington at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
