Redan had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their defense stepped up to hand the M.L. King Lions a 19-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Redan can attribute much of their success to Londyn Felder, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Felder didn't just play on offense: he also made two total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception which she returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Redan's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as Felder, Koryonia Magee, and Pryncess Anderson picked up one apiece. Felder's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked her eighth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards dating back to last season.

M.L. King is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Redan didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 59-0 victory against Columbia on the 2nd. As for M.L. King, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southwest DeKalb at 6:00 p.m. on October 21st.
