Softball Recap: Roncalli Comes Up Short

If Roncalli was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Kankakee Valley on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Royals fell just short of the Harrison Raiders by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Royals of the 10-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Bennie Leffler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Roncalli's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Harrison, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roncalli will venture away from home to face off against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harrison, they will take on Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders are facing the Greyhounds at the right time seeing as the Greyhounds are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
