Softball Recap: Moody Beats Handley for Their Third Straight Win

Moody waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Handley Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won 16 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Moody got a great performance from Laney Saunier as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Saunier has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Taylor Rogers was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Zoey Terry was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Moody hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive matchups.

Moody's record now sits at 25-7. As for Handley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-13-1.

Coming up, Moody will venture away from home to face off against Ramsay at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Handley, they will host Reeltown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
