Recap: Career Magnet Panthers vs. East Windsor Panthers
The Career Magnet Panthers lost against the East Windsor Panthers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Career Magnet's2023 ended with a 40-24 defeat against East Windsor. While losing is never fun, Career Magnet can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while East Windsor is ranked 34th).
It was another big night for Bailey Winner, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds for East Windsor. The matchup was Winner's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Nohely Santana was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 16 rebounds and five assists.
Career Magnet bumped their record down to 2-3 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for East Windsor, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Career Magnet will take on Shelton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shelton comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for East Windsor, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering] at 10:30 a.m. on December 29th.
