After a string of seven wins, Evangel Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Tuscaloosa Home Educators Warriors by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat on September 2nd.

Evangel Christian actually scored more points across those five sets (107-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 12-25, 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12.

Makayla Cranford paced Evangel Christian's offense, picking up 15 kills. Cranford got some help from Alyssa Stephens and her 17 assists. Stephens also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emma Jones, each putting up eight.

Evangel Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5-1. As for Tuscaloosa Home Educators, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 23-1-1 record this season.

Evangel Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Southern Christian on the 30th. As for Tuscaloosa Home Educators, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Legacy/Essential Church School on the 30th.
