Softball Recap: Coolidge Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Empire, Coolidge was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Miami Vandals 11-10. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Vandals: they've now won six in a row.

Aubriana Cavazos was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Azaria White, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Coolidge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami only posted a batting average of .290.

Coolidge's victory bumped their record up to 2-3-2. As for Miami, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Coolidge will challenge Tanque Verde at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Miami, they will face off against Wickenburg at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
