Volleyball Game Preview: Liberty Patriots vs. Coronado Cougars

The Liberty Patriots will square off against the Coronado Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Liberty is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Del Sol, who was ranked 13th at the time (Liberty was ranked 14th). The Patriots fell 3-1 to the Dragons on Thursday.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 33-31, 25-23, 26-28, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Coronado came tearing into Wednesday's match with 16 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Skyhawks.

Coronado's got stronger as the match went on, holding Silverado to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-15, 25-12.

Coronado pushed their record up to 33-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-11 record this season.
