Basketball Game Preview: McFarland Cougars vs. McLane Highlanders

The McFarland Cougars and the McLane Highlanders will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when McFarland challenged Lemoore on Wednesday. The Cougars fell 78-74 to the Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), the Cougars still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McLane). They walked away with a 66-54 win over Sierra Pacific on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Highlanders as they're now sitting on three straight.

McFarland now has a losing record of 1-2. As for McLane, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

McFarland came up short against McLane when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 75-67. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
