Baseball Recap: Farina South Central Gets the Win

The matchup between Farina South Central and Richland County on Wednesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cougars walked away with a 12-8 win over the Tigers. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Evan Hoover was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Zane Montes, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Farina South Central now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Richland County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Farina South Central will square off against Dieterich at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Movin Maroons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Richland County, they will head out to square off against Teutopolis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wooden Shoes will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
