Baseball Recap: Auburn Takes a Loss

Auburn lost against Central back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Red Devils since on Wednesday.

Auburn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Whatley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Britt Farr also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Auburn and nudges their season record down to 13-12. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

While Auburn had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
