Baseball Recap: Hooper Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Hooper Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Southern Christian Patriots. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Colts as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Slade Russell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Cason Dunlap also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Hooper Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Southern Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hooper Academy will square off against Bessemer Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southern Christian, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Heritage Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
