Recap: Cheney RVT Beavers vs. Vinal RVT Hawks
The Cheney RVT Beavers have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They blew past Vinal RVT 32-9. That 32-9 margin sets a new team best for Cheney RVT this season.
Cheney RVT was led to victory by Cristialis Carrasquillo and Trinity Hazel. Carrasquillo scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Hazel scored 20 points along with three steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Hazel has scored at least 25% of Cheney RVT's points. Ai'Lani Alvelo was another key contributor, scoring two points along with ten rebounds.
Cheney RVT's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Vinal RVT, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheney RVT will face off against Grasso Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grasso Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Vinal RVT, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilcox RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Wilcox RVT's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
