Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Lafayette's Third in Last Four Outings

Lafayette won the last time they faced Jefferson County, and Kiley Beach did her part to make sure it happened again. The Lafayette Hornets really took it to the Jefferson County Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-6 victory thanks in part to Beach, who went 14 of 20 on her way to 30 points along with five assists and five boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Havyn Richardson, who went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points and six steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Jefferson County lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tniah Dunlap, who posted seven rebounds and five steals.

Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Jefferson County, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
