Preview: Wilcox Central Jaguars vs. Booker T. Washington Magnet Yellow Jackets
The Wilcox Central Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Booker T. Washington Magnet Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wilcox Central has four straight wins, Booker T. Washington Magnet has 16 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Wilcox Central didn't have too much trouble with Dallas County at home as they won 68-54. Given Wilcox Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Dallas County is ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Booker T. Washington Magnet suffered their biggest loss since December 9, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a tough 70-44 defeat at the hands of Brewbaker Tech. Booker T. Washington Magnet has not had much luck with Brewbaker Tech recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Wilcox Central has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Booker T. Washington Magnet, their loss was their 12th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-15.
Everything went Wilcox Central's way against Booker T. Washington Magnet in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as Wilcox Central made off with a 67-47 victory.
