Softball Game Preview: Coppell Cowboys vs. Lewisville Farmers

The Coppell Cowboys will square off against the Lewisville Farmers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coppell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Coppell turned things around against Little Elm on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Lobos. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cowboys needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Cecilia Bourque was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimber Kerrigan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs.

Coppell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Lewisville lost 16-4 to Flower Mound on Monday.

Coppell's victory bumped their record up to 14-11-1. As for Lewisville, they dropped their record down to 4-18-1 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Everything went Coppell's way against Lewisville in their previous matchup back in March, as Coppell made off with a 14-3 win. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Farmers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
