Basketball Recap: IDEA Pharr Takes a Loss

IDEA Pharr was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-24 heartbreaker at the hands of IDEA Edinburg College Prep. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against IDEA Pharr this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-22 back in December of 2024.

Leading IDEA Edinburg College Prep to victory were Miriana Espinoza and Ana Rodriguez. Espinoza went 9 for 18 en route to 19 points, while Rodriguez posted five points and seven steals. Those 19 points gave Espinoza a new career-high.

IDEA Pharr's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for IDEA Edinburg College Prep, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-10.

IDEA Pharr does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for IDEA Edinburg College Prep, they will be playing at home against Vanguard Academy Mozart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
