Basketball Recap: Cannon County Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Cannon County won the last time they faced Community and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cannon County Lions walked away with a 59-47 victory over the Community Vikings/Viqueens. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Vikings/Viqueens are ranked 206th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Vikings/Viqueens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anna Haskins, who went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points. Alyssa White was another key player, going 6-for-14 to rack up 14 points and five boards.

Cannon County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Community's loss dropped their record down to 12-17.

Cannon County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-59 win against Cascade on the 22nd. As for Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-54 victory against Grundy County on the 22nd.
