Basketball Recap: Jelani Odjegba's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pine View over Dixie

Pine View was the 48-44 winner over Dixie when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Pine View Panthers fell to the Dixie Flyers 55-51.

Pine View's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jelani Odjegba, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points. Odjegba is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Schmitt, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Tyson Forsey was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 13 en route to 18 points along with six assists and four steals for Dixie. Another player making a difference was Tyler Walter, who put up 11 points in addition to six boards and four blocks.

Pine View's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Dixie, their record is now 14-7.

Pine View will look to defend their home court on Monday against Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Ben Chase and Odjegba. As for Dixie, they will head out on the road to square off against Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season.
