Basketball Game Preview: Wayne Christian Eagles vs. Rocky Mount Academy Eagles

On Friday, Wayne Christian needed a bit of extra time to put away Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lion 74-71. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Eagles were down 38-24 in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, Rocky Mount Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of DASH. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the United are ranked 115th).

Rocky Mount Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Wayne Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
