Basketball Recap: Maconaquah Skates Past Peru with Ease

Maconaquah won the last time they faced Peru and things went their way on Friday too. The Maconaquah Braves blew past the Peru Tigers 85-57. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Maconaquah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah Ball led the charge by going 15 of 25 on his way to 36 points along with five boards and four steals. The match was Ball's 31st in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fuddy Kile, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds.

Maconaquah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peru only pulled down nine offensive boards.

Peru's loss came despite strong showings from Zion See and Jacob Boswell. See went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points and six boards, while Boswell went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance gave Boswell a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Turner, who posted nine points.

Maconaquah is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points per game. As for Peru, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Maconaquah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 82-79 victory against Kokomo on the 18th. Peru has also already played their next matchup, a 70-57 win against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on the 18th.
