Softball Recap: Eastern View Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Eastern View won the last time they faced James Monroe and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cyclones put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 8-2 win. The Cyclones might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Lily Stiffler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Werth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Sara Hopper was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Eastern View pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for James Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Eastern View will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellow Jackets: the pair will be back at it again later today.
