Basketball Recap: New Ulm Cathedral Takes a Loss

New Ulm Cathedral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 90-54 loss at the hands of the St. Mary's Knights. The Greyhounds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-29.

Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Anderson, who posted 18 points. The contest was Anderson's third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Mason Sprenger, who put up seven points.

New Ulm Cathedral's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

New Ulm Cathedral will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wabasso at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for St. Mary's, they are taking a road trip to square off against Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
